2009 Events Calendar
January 21, 2009 - This month we are taking a tour of the PTech (Process Technology) and EETech ( Electrical and Electronic Technology) facilities and curriculum at Los Medanos College. These two programs have been developed to address member companies' largest challenge, that of training of potential employees.
February 4, 2009 - This month we will hear from the Executive Director of CICC (Chemical Industry Council of California) who will review the Green Chemistry Initiative that has gained traction in Sacramento and will impact all our member companies.
March 4, 2009 - The March Forum will feature a presentation on exit strategies for Brownfields.
April 1, 2009 - This month we will be pleased to have presentations by I/A member companies, SAGE Env. and The Avogadro Group on the most recent action on AB 32 and the new BAAQMD Reg 9 Rules 6 and 7 on thermal process units.
May 6, 2009 - The 2009 I/A Annual Meeting will feature the 2009 Board of Directors and the New President, George Smith, of GBR Smith Group. The guest speaker will be Bill Haywood, CEO of LS9, a new company that is developing alternate fuels via Sugar Cane Cellulosics materials.
June 3, 2009 - This months forum will feature presentations on two new projects in the San Francisco Bay Area, one on Solid Waste Management, and the other on Recycle Water uses. The presenter will be Gary Darling, the General Manager of Delta Diablo Sanitation Group.
July 8, 2009 - The July 2009 Forum will feature Christopher Thornberg, of Beacon Economics who will give a presentation on our economy. Dr. Thornberg has been a frequent speaker at several statewide functions and accurately predicted the current economic situation worldwide several years ago. His presentations are always accurate and stimulating and will be extremely timely.
September 2, 2009 - The September 2009 forum will feature a presentation from Gary Lucks, Principal of Beyond Compliance. Mr. Lucks will discuss changes in state and federal legislation and regulation since his last presentation to the I/A in 2008.
October 7, 2009 - The October 2009 forum will feature a presentation by Glenn Leong of Kleinfelder, Inc. Mr. Leong will discuss Kleinfelder's approaches to Green Remediation.
October 7, 2009 - Immediately following the October 2009 Forum, the Industrial Association will host our first golf outing. Look for further details upcoming.
November 4, 2009 - The 2009 Annual Supervisors Luncheon will be held on Nov. 4, 2009.
December 2, 2009 - Forum featuring Mr. Gregory Gartrell of CC Water District on the recent water supply negotiations and infrastructure condition.
