April 2010 - Tom Guarino of PG&E speaks on the latest new Generation facilities in Contra Costa County, including the first year of completion for the Gateway Generating Plant in Antioch, and on PG&EÕs significant foray into renewable generation facilities, including wind farms, solar plants, and energy generation from space. Greg Hoaglin of PG&E provides an update on the latest rebate programs and strategies for the Industrial Community in the era of the Smart Grid.
March 2010 - During the last legislative session in Sacramento, a bill (AB-283) was introduced which would expand a producerÕs responsibility for products produced in California through disposal. This is being referred to as Expanded Producer Responsibility (EPR) and would hold the original producer of a product responsible for its ultimate disposal. Heidi Sanborn, Executive Director of the California Product Stewardship Council provides an overview of the goals of the CPSC and what this might mean for companies doing business in California. Mike Rogge, Legislative Director, Environmental Quality for the California Manufacturers and Technology Association (CMTA) addresses the impact such a proposal would have on producers in California.
